Data Vault Facility Specifications

Brush Mountain Data Center has implemented a high-availability Internet transit network infrastructure, available within secure co-location facilities. This has been accomplished through the following:

  1. Connections make use of redundant routers in BMDC’s Core Network
  2. Multiple upstream providers
  3. Fully redundant OCn transport network
  4. All key network components are monitored 24/7/365

    Building Access

Building entry is biometric access after hours. Cage room is security card access with electronic motion detect alarm de-activated by numeric keypad/electronic card swipe. All access is recorded for audit with historical record by person, date, and time.

Power is provided by Virgina Tech Electric Service with 10 second activated generator backup.

HVAC is fully redundant, industrial strength and adequate for the purpose.  Fire suppression is present.

Three upstream Internet Peer providers are fiber connected in diverse paths to the data center in the OC-n ranges.

    Cages

All cages are approximately 8’X10’, individually key locked.

Bandwidth is not restricted.  Clients are connected to a 100mbps port unfiltered to the Internet. Bandwidth is charged as an “average” as measured on the Weekly Chart of MRTG usage graphprovided.  See Pricing for more information.

    Shared Rack Space

This is an option for clients who want to start small and grow into a cage. These racks are in an open room, secured separately from the cages, but must have accompanied access by appointment only. We supply UPS power.
